SALARY: Very competitive compensation based on your experience ($120-$150K)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Immediate opening in Beverage, Sweet & Dairy Flavors groups for a
Flavorist within a global division of a world leader in food ingredients & flavors serving
the food and beverage industry.
Primary Purpose:
Develop formulae and compound Flavors to meet customer requirements and sales requests.
Play an integral role in developing new business through contacts and experience in the industry.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Contact potential clients to develop new business.
2. Work closely together with the applications group to develop integrated solutions
and provide better support to our clients.
3. Create and modify Flavors ensuring correct blending of materials
4. Set up taste panels and participate in tasting chemicals and flavors.
5. Maintain stock of chemicals and supplies.
6. Write formulas to create new flavors and applications for existing and potential clients.
7. Prepare cost data for formulas developed.
8. Prepare specification sheets for customers.
9. File PMC letters for the USDA
10. May execute projects or perform other duties as required by the Division.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry or a related Applied Science preferred.
10+ years experience in the Flavor industry.
Scientific and analytical aptitudes. Marketing and Sales aptitudes.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to taste and smell chemicals, flavors and food products.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in a laboratory setting.
Must be able to see to mix and compound flavors.
Working Environment:
Laboratory environment with exposure to a variety of chemicals, flavors and food products.
