JO 14628 R&D Lab Manager/ Sr Analytical Chemist

Manufacturer, distributor and marketer of products using a unique, patented process that can be combined with several known and widely used biocides exhibiting superior bacterial and viral properties. The company is continuing its research and development of future products in the household care, agriculture, mineral, medical, water, military, Cosmoceutical & Nutraceuticals, industrial and food processing industries.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry/Food Science.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Chemical, Food, Cosmoceutical / Nutraceuticals or related industry.

• At least 5 years of experience as Analytical Chemist in any one of the following industries: Chemicals, Food, Beverage, Nutraceutical, and Anti-bacterial Anti-oxidants or Preservative.

• Has knowledge and experienced in operation of research facility, and has experiences working in getting new product launch, in managing and establishing lab budgets.

• Good business acumen with attention to details.

• Experience building effective and efficient teams and managing and directing the different class of projects.

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Experience and working knowledge in the chemical, nutraceutical, agricultural, food, mineral industries.

• Able to work with other departments

• Limited travel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage R&D projects with defined goals, deadlines and objectives.

• Direct reports : Lab technician, Administrative assistant, Gov’t Liaison, Veterinarian, Pilot Plant

• Ability to develop new products, improve product effectiveness, reduce product cost, make product prototypes to meet customer’s parameters.

• Work to achieve sales objectives with production processes and disciplines that meet or exceed customer requirements

• Must support sales objectives with production requirements that must be quality approved and be delivered on time.

• Establish mixing procedures within the production team, while supplying guidelines to Quality Control for product launch.

• Work within our plant Quality Control personnel programs for all new products.

• Provide specification for ingredients to Purchasing departments.

• Provide the direction and discipline to insure the operation adheres to the customers’ specifications

• Be responsible for the production and delivery for all co-packaging operations.

• Accommodate regular communication mechanisms to top senior management and board of directors.

• Attend industry events and seminars when appropriate to stay current with technology and market trends.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with corporate staff functions.

• Provide guidance and leadership to all employees.

• Display and maintain our corporate policy to all employees, vendors, suppliers and customers.

• Provide final approval for procedures, projects, guidelines

• Works closely with the Technical Advisory Committee.

• Work with different teams from Sales & Marketing, Production and Quality Control for the company’s success.

• This position reports Exec VP of Technical.
