JOB TITLE: Sr. Scientist - Alcoholic Beverages
LOCATION: WI/IL area
SALARY: $80K to $100K +
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develop customized flavor application systems as required by project briefs.
The employee may also be expected to perform functions that require some travel,
including conducting product demonstrations, providing Beverage Technology related support
for customers, and assisting with new product start-ups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assumes leadership role on assigned projects and assures timely completion of project objectives.
Provides project progress updates to the Director of Beverage Applications or to a designated project coordinator
concerning their own projects as required.
Formulates technically appropriate and sound beverage prototypes per project objectives.
Conducts shelf stability studies as required.
Participates in the continual updating and improvement of the company’s beverage flavor collection.
Contributes to the flavor application data bank e.g. usage levels, descriptors and characteristics.
Together with account managers, makes new concept and capability presentations to customers.
Participates with scale-up of new products for customers by assisting in making production versions of
formulations and attending bottling/canning runs, including conducting trouble shooting when required.
Assists in training new and existing employees.
Maintains good house keeping and follows safety procedures in the lab environment.

Participates in the implementation of the company business plan.

Job Specifications:
Education: - Minimum BS in Food Science or equivalent degree in associated field of study.
Experience: - Beverage Application 8-10+ years preferred
Skills: - Beverage development – all beverage types. - Olfactory perception - Computer literacy -
Soft drink technology and bottling / canning principles - Basic microbiology - Emulsion Technology -
regulatory interpretations
