JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Manager
LOCATION: Midwest
SALARY: Negotiable
Job Summary: Manage and coordinate all quality related programs and functions to ensure
finished product quality and regulatory compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate and manage all quality programs.
2. Maintain correspondence with all customers and regulatory agencies.
3. Maintain SOP and work instructions programs.
4. Direct the laboratory functions, and mange the staff within the lab.
5. Provide technical assistance and expertise to all management and plant personnel.
6. Direct, maintain, and coordinate the following programs.
a. HACCP
b. Bio-Security
c. Allergen
d. Pest control program
e. Traceability program
f. Hold and Release
g. GMP
h. GMO
i. Food Allergen
j. Bio-Security
7. Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage plant self-inspection.
2. Coordinate the plant food safety team meetings.
3. Manage plant microbiological environmental monitoring program.
4. Manage required documentation and files for regulatory compliance and quality
procedures and programs.
5. Monitor HTST pasteurizer performance and documentation.
6. Maintain documentation for Kosher and EU certification.
7. Manage plant audit requirements by regulatory agencies to include, USDA-FSIS, USDA-TQSA,
MDA, FDA, and AIB.
8. Coordinate COA documentation.
9. Monitor time and attendance system for laboratory employees.
10. Active role and participation with the BRC program.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology.
2. 2-4 years experience in Quality department.
3. Proficient knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office products.
4. Previous supervisory experience.
5. Experience in laboratory and quality program management.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Primarily an office environment.
2. Will require extended periods of time seated working at a computer workstation.
3. Will require extended periods of walking and standing.
4. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
5. May require some travel, and weekend or night hours as necessary.
