Independent producer of bulk tomato ingredient products (tomato paste and diced tomatoes). Produce canned tomatoes, tomato products, plus specialty sauces in pouches for customers in the retail and food service markets. The company is known worldwide for its innovation and integrity.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Mission for this colleague is to

(1) Develop and maintain customer product specifications which add value for the company’s customers and the relationships with them

(2) Assist customers in improving their processes and products which will best utilize the benefits of company products

(3) Monitor customer issues and complaints and assist sales and customer service colleagues with resolving such issues, and to assist the production colleagues in preventing them

(4) Assist the development of processes and specifications for the production of ingredient and finished products

(5) Participate in QA/QC activities.

To support these areas, travel out of state may be required up to 50% of your work time. Generally, your talents are in the area of food science and technology and it is expected that you will utilize your talents to support the company Mission.

KNOWLEDGE, LEADERSHIP & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent results in a significant Research and Development role.

• An undergraduate degree in food science or a similar discipline, with a graduate degree highly desirable.

• World class knowledge of tomato paste and tomato based products and their processes of production is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated leadership skills.

• Excellent listening and communication skills, written and oral.

• A solid understanding of business accounting, economic, financial and marketing analysis.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Substantial ability and expertise with Excel, Word and other microcomputer applications.

• Works independently, with broadly defined work objectives and limited review of overall results.
