JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Manager- Meat Products (Sticks/Sausage)

SALARY: Based on Experience



SUMMARY:

Provides a link between Management and Manufacturing on Quality issues.
This is accomplished by overseeing the Quality Lab, various Quality Programs and insuring Governmental Compliance. This job supervises the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• (4) Year degree in Food Science/Meat Science or other related field with at least (5) years experience in Meat Processing.

• HACCP and SQF Certified.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Insure Governmental Compliance on products by enforcing standards and programs to support them.

• Insure Label Compliance, including nutritional, on old and new Labels.

• Continuous upgrade and review of Quality Programs.

• Develop/Implement various Quality Programs.

• Oversee Quality Assurance Supervisor and duties.

• Investigate new technologies/procedures.

• Work with Supervisors, Employees, Management and Customers, providing them with product information and technical assistance.

• Work with Production Manager on new product development.

• Evaluate current product formulas and provide advice and guidance to Management regarding formulation options.

• Organize/Oversee microbiological sampling plans for Sanitation, HACCP and other programs.

• Tackle any other projects requested by Management

• Organize various OSHA programs for Compliance as they relate to Quality Assurance or quality in general.

• Organize and lead various team projects and activities.

• Leader of HACCP team-review/revise program. Insure that pre-shipment reviews are completed correctly and on a timely basis.

• Oversees, directs and supports the commitment and continual improvement to Food Safety and Quality Programs. Holds employees accountable for established food safety and quality program guidelines. Supports, via budget and human resource allocation, food safety and quality program development, maintenance and improvements. Identifies and recommends expenditures in support of Food Safety and Quality.
