TITLE: Logistics Coordinator/Manager
LOCATION: Rochester, MN or Mason City, IA area
SALARY: to $70K + B
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This job is responsible for coordinating the receipt, stocking, assignment of inventory,
and shipping of products (refrigerated & dry) to meet the Production and Sales Plan.
A major aspect of this function is to control the cost of freight domestically and
internationally while exploring and implementing any new avenues of cost savings.
Reports to the Corp VP of Operations.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for communication between our customers,
suppliers and carriers. This position also identifies the most efficient, cost
effective means of moving freight from one location to another.
The person must be able to communicate, organize, and share information
with many departments (Customer Service, Operations, Quality, etc.).
Additional duties include:
Communicate effectively with customers, partner vendors and team members.
Implement savings plans and guide the ongoing execution of the plans.
Assistance with new account start-ups.
Locating and securing additional warehouse space when required
Rate negotiation (shipping and warehousing)
Analyze freight claims for accuracy
Control and manage warehouse and storage costs
Monitor inventories and contract volumes
Education/Experience
Bachelors degree in Business
3-5 years relevant experience
