JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Manager
LOCATION: Southwest
SALARY: to $80K
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Manages all Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for the facility and manages
the laboratory. HACCP Team Coordinator for the facility. Ensures full execution and compliance
of the facility regarding Quality Management Systems, food safety programs based on 21 CFR,
FDA, SQF and customer requirements. Supervises the Quality Assurance Team for the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages Quality Management Systems, including food safety, food security and quality,
ensures regulatory compliance that includes food labeling, food standards, organic foods, EU,
and Kosher requirements.
Completes daily walk-through of facility to ensure regulatory compliance and quality
compliance; communicates findings daily to appropriate facility personnel.
Oversees third-party audit compliance and preparation, currently SQF. Manages customer
complaints, including performing root cause analysis with the plant tram and activating
corrective action.
Develops and implements technical procedures, lab methods, and work instructions.
Responds in writing to all audits and audit findings, as required.
Assures that laboratory analysis is accurate and appropriated correlated. HACCP Team coordinator.
Ensures HACCP plan is current and verified. Maintains Kosher, EU, and Organic certifications.
Provides training for GMP, Allergen, Food Security, HACCP, SQF and Laboratory Methods.
Ensures internal audits are performed as scheduled, and related corrective actions are completed.
Ensures implementation and utilization of microbiological control program,
including environmental monitoring.
Facility liaison with external pest control provider.
Managed the QA team, including lab technicians.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in related or technical or scientific field.
3+ years of demonstrated work experience in Quality Assurance n a Food Manufacturing or Food Processing environment, preferably dairy.
3 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with operations and management.
Demonstrated expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Security, HACCP, and Laboratory .
Excellent communication skills, including teaching and coaching.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn new computer applications quickly.
Demonstrated ability to positively contribute in a team environment.
