TITLE: Plant Manager
LOCATION: Southwest
SALARY: $90K+
DESCRIPTION:
This facility is a production facility that receives raw milk and produces value added
ingredients and powders.
The Plant Manager reports to the Site Manager and directly supervises the
production management and supervision team.
Overall responsibility includes achieving at or better than planned efficiencies
and profitability for the plant while ensuring a safe work environment where quality
standards and operational execution are at or above Company standards.
Requires the ability to work effectively with cross-functional leaders within
the company and the facility.
Must be able to manage effectively in a union-free environment.
The Plant Manager is a leadership position within the company and is expected to be
effective in a leadership role, not only at the plant level, but throughout the organization
and across functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that the facility has a safe work environment and that all safety hazards are properly
addressed. The focus on safety and safe work practices is first priority.
Ensure plant operations are in compliance with regulatory, quality, and company requirements.
Report and address non-compliance as required by Company policies and practices.
Effectively communicate to plant personnel at all levels, ensuring understanding of performance goals and objectives.
Actively engage with plant leadership to understand and address areas of unsatisfactory
performance.
Provide systems and processes to provide timely feedback to managers and supervisors
regarding on-going operations and performance. Achieve plant objectives regarding operating efficiencies.
Achieve plant objectives regarding plant profitability.
Actively develop team member skills and abilities to prepare them for increasing responsibility.
Provide outstanding customer service, both to internal and external customers.
Model leadership both in the plant and community.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
10 years of documented work experience in a management capacity in a food manufacturing
environment.
At least 5 years in dairy ingredient manufacturing.
Technical expertise in milk processing, including receiving,
separation, filtration and spray dry manufacturing, including competency
in quality standards and quality execution.
Bachelors degree in a related, relevant field of study.
High level of demonstrated proficiency in Food Manufacturing processes and procedures,
particularly processing dairy.
Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and contingency management, including
the ability to understand cause and effect and implement action plans to drive positive results.
Demonstrated understanding of P&L statements and manufacturing financials.
Demonstrated ability to understand and utilize Key Performance Indicators to
identify potential trends and results.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead, delegate,
and positively interact with customers, employees and managers.
Sound decision making skills, including the ability to prioritize based on the core
values of the organization.
Ability to schedule and organize work, both for themselves and for others.
Demonstrated ability to participate and make positive contributions to team objectives.
Meets commitments and adds value to teams and organization.
