JOB TITLE: National Sales Manager
Industrial Food Ingredients
LOCATION: Based from your home office (MN,WI,IA,IL preferred but will consider all locations)
SALARY: $BASE + bonus + car allowance depending on your experience
SUMMARY:
This is a Hunter position that requires a hands-on manager with documented success, strong and current customer relationships plus the potential to advance into a Director of Sales role.. The National Sales Manager leads the business development within the assigned geography and at strategic customers within the industrial channel and food ingredient category.
This position will require managing brokers, working with food distributors and significant direct contact with leading food manufacturers. The incumbent will interact with an existing customer base but will be challenged to place heavy emphasis developing new customers within the assigned territory. This position requires food ingredient sales experience.
ROLE STATEMENT
This assignment has primary customer and broker management accountability for the assigned territory. The owner of this position leads the customer management and business development process. The goal is to achieve planned objectives for the dried ingredients/product business. This includes building customer and broker alliances by utilizing value added supply and demand options that link customer strategies and capabilities with Company business priorities. The National Sales Manager routinely interacts personally with brokers: building sales objectives; customer specific business plans; conducting product training and score carding results. The incumbent is expected to provide sales planning capabilities, sales information insights, sales forecasting and analytics to all business partners.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
The National Sales Manager has total ownership to deliver and execute the business plans and assigned budgets for the position.
Business Development: Can target, develop and execute new business in the assigned territory
Leads the customer and broker business planning, business development, and sales execution process.
Leads the development, delivery and execution of the customer strategic plan.
Develop Company, Customer and Broker partnerships and business development objectives.
Lead and supports the development of a comprehensive customer profile (includes scorecard).
Identifies, plans and executes customer business opportunities.
Penetrates customers and other networks to build alliances with all key decision makers and strategic personnel.
Develops and leverages partnerships to lead business plan execution.
Leads the annual review of customer and broker strategic plans, category and business reviews, and participates in addressing customer needs and requested changes to the plan as appropriate.
Shares key customer learnings and requirements to all appropriate Company associates.
Understands and communicates Company demand and supply capabilities.
Shares understanding across all stakeholders: internal associates, customers and brokers.
Ensure that all business reporting and administrative activity is delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA in Business Administration or Marketing or related
5 to 10 years of food industry experience with a minimum of 5 years of specific experience selling value-added food ingredient products and food commodity ingredients
Deep knowledge of the US industrial food market, customer base, and food ingredients sales
Must have a proven track record of business development and exceptional sales results
This position requires 50% travel
